City defender Cyrus Christie says a few minor adjustments could have a big impact

Sky Blues defender Cyrus Christie says clean sheets are just around the corner as City gear up for a weekend visit to face Shrewsbury Town at the Greenhous Meadow Stadium.

City have netted a record-busting 17 goals in their first five games of the 13/14 campaign and conceded 14, resulting in some dramatic results like the recent 5-4 home win over Bristol City and last weekend's 4-4 home draw with Preston.

Christie said though that while the Sky Blues were fully aware of the need to plug the flow of goals at the other end, the entire squad is confident that only some minor adjustments are needed.

The full-back said: "Obviously we've spoken about the defending but to be fair we've not gotten ourselves overly concerned.

"Teams have not come and broken us down, the goals have come from little mistakes rather than opposition playing through us so we have to look at that as a positive and try to cut out those small mistakes at the same time.

"The way we've been defending at times has been good and people like Jordan Clarke and Andy Webster have looked really solid. We know we just need to keep that going and put that together with cutting out those little mistakes that have proved costly for us I know you will see us keeping more clean sheets sooner rather than later."
