Sky Blues to appeal Baker's red card in Capital One Cup defeat to Leyton Orient

Coventry City will be lodging a formal appeal to the Football Association following Carl Baker's red card in Tuesday night's 3-2 Capital One Cup first round defeat away to Leyton Orient.

Baker was dismissed by referee Dean Whitestone following a challenge on Romain Vincelot in the 55th minute.

Baker gave City an early lead before goals from Kevin Lisbie and Dean Cox put Orient ahead before the break.

The Sky Blues were then down to ten men by the time Franck Moussa rifled a leveller on the hour with Leon Clarke's spot kick being saved by Jamie Jones before Lisbie headed home a late winner.

Baker is currently subject to an immediate three-match ban which would see him miss League One fixtures at home to Bristol City and Preston North End and away to Carlisle United.

Keep checking www.ccfc.co.uk for updates on the appeal.
