Coventry City duo Cian Harries and George Thomas play in Wales U17s win over Northern Ireland...

Coventry City Academy starlets Cian Harries and George Thomas played in Wales Under-17's 1-0 over Northern Ireland.

The Sky Blue duo have been called up for the International Development Tournament and Wales started off with a win at Stebonheath Park, Llanelli.

Harries started the game and Thomas came on in the second half as the City duo continue to gain international experience.

A second-half goal from Sheffield United youngster Ioan Evans sealed the win with the next fixture against the Faroe Islands today at 5pm.

Assistant Academy Manager Richard Stevens believes the experience of playing internationally can only help the players' development.

Stevens said: "George (Thomas) has been with us since the Under-9's side and We brought in Cian (Harries) from Villa at Under-14s level.

"It has been great to watch their journey of development and they are two great lads. The experience they are getting with Wales is great for their development.

"To win caps for your country as a youngster is always a fantastic experience. We have brought them up into the Under-18s recently and have been really impressed with their attitude."
