Midfielder Franck Moussa wins Goal of the Season for his goal against MK Dons...
Coventry City midfielder Franck Moussa has won the Goal of the 2012/13 Season award for his goal against MK Dons.
The former Southend United midfielder signed for the club towards the end of September 2012 on a free transfer and has made 46 appearances for the club this season, scoring six goals from midfield, including his fantastic equaliser against Notts County to earn City a point.
The Sky Blues grabbed a brilliant three points at the Stadium:MK and Moussa’s incredible individual effort was the first for City in a 3-2 win.
Despite facing fierce competition with great goals scored throughout the season, Moussa’s strike was voted the Goal of the Season by the fans with 58%.
Moussa said: “I am obviously delighted to get Goal of the Season as there have been some great goals this year so to win this award was always going to be tough.
“It was pretty special for me to get a goal like that in such a big game as we brought more fans to Milton Keynes than anywhere else in the league.
“I just saw some space in front of me and I just thought ‘let’s run’. Once I got around the last defender, I just thought I would hit it as hard as I can and it went in. It is probably the best goal I have ever scored.
“I hope I can continue to score more goals for the club next season, but I can’t promise they will be all as spectacular as that.
"We beat MK Dons, Doncaster and Bournemouth all away from home and it does make you think what sort of season we could have had if we were more consistent.”
