Under-18's narrowly lose at the Higgs

17 September 2012

Despite a second-half fight-back, City lose to Weds

Coventry City Under-18's lost 4-3 to Sheffield Wednesday at the Alan Higgs Centre.

The side, which featured five Under-16's, battled bravely after falling 4-0 down at half-time but came up short in the end.

Sean Mullen broke the deadlock after 20 minutes and added a second for Wednesday five minutes later to make it 2-0.

Having dominated the early possession, Emmanuel Dieseruvwe made it 3-0 and the game seemed out of reach four minutes before the interval when Wale Ayoola added a fourth.

However, the Under-18's came out spirited for the second half and almost achieved the impossible with Dion Kelly-Evans, Luke Bromley and Ryan Haynes scoring the goals for City.

The side almost leveled in the last minute but were denied a memerable point.
