CCFC and Virgin Trains have teamed up for the Arsenal trip...

Coventry City have put the wheels in motion for a special train to take Sky Blues fans to this month’s Capital One Cup tie at Arsenal.

The club has linked up with Virgin Trains to offer return travel to the game to allow City fans to make the most of their first visit to the Emirates Stadium.

The standard package includes return travel from Coventry to London Euston on a bespoke CCFC train along with return travel on the London Underground and a guaranteed ticket in the lower tier.

There is a first class package that also offers first class travel and complimentary snacks and drinks.

Trains will depart from Coventry at around 5pm and leave London after the game at around 11pm, with an estimated travel time of 80 minutes.

Coventry City’s commercial director, Justin Tose, believes this is a great way for fans to make the most of their day.

He said: “We wanted to do something special to mark this first trip to the Emirates Stadium and make it a really memorable day out for fans.

“In the past, the Sky Blue Express was a real feature of the club’s away days and by recreating that type of service, fans can start to build the atmosphere well ahead of kick-off.

“Not only do we feel this service can provide fans with a good opportunity to mix before and after the game but it is also practical given the difficulties that go with travelling around London, particularly on a weeknight.”

Tickets are on sale now. Standard package tickets cost £65 for adults and £60 for concessions and the first class package costs £130 for adults and £125 for concessions.
