City centre store to close it's doors this Friday

Coventry City Football Club are searching for a new city centre partner after closing its City Central store.

The store, based in the Lower Precinct, will close its doors on Friday, September 28, as it no longer covers its operating costs.

Justin Tose, the club’s commercial director said the decision was regrettable but inevitable.

He said: “Over the past 12 months, the footfall at the store has waned and we have come to the point where it simply isn’t viable to keep it open.

“We want a presence in the city centre because we know that some supporters like to buy their tickets there, so we are looking at a partnership with a retailer who would sell our tickets and, possibly, merchandise.

“In the meantime, I would urge our supporters to make the most of the Superstore at the Ricoh Arena and also make full use of our website.

“It is quick and easy to register and we have had very positive feedback from supporters on how simple it is to use. The other huge benefit to fans is it is available 24/7 from the comfort of your own home.”
