Sky Blues extend healthy relationship

City to continue their partnership with Holland & Barrett...

The Sky Blues look in good shape after extending their healthy relationship with Holland & Barrett.

The health food and sports nutrition specialists have been providing the club with products and expert advice since 2009.

That will continue this season after the current partnership, which also sees the two organisations team up to educate local schoolchildren about the importance of healthy nutrition, was extended.

Phil Geary is marketing director at Holland & Barrett, which has its head office in Nuneaton, and feels it is important for the both sides to use their knowledge and profile to spread the benefits of a healthy lifestyle for all ages.

He said: “We are in our fourth year of working with Coventry City and it has been a good relationship.

“Our sports nutrition products are used by the senior players for everything from recovery and muscle building to injury prevention.

“We also provide nutrition plans for players and visit local schools for junior training sessions, helping to educate young people about how healthy eating can help with sports performance. 

“We have already been into ten schools and will be bringing players into our local Coventry store this season too for a meet and greet session with the fans.”

The players are clearly fans of the products they receive too – with the chocolate flavour protein shakes proving most popular.

Tynan Scope is the corporate sales manager at Coventry City. He said: “We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Holland & Barrett.

“They have supported the club in many ways over the past couple of years and it is important for us to build on these types of relationships. 

“By working with such an expert in this field we are able to make a big difference in educating people about healthy nutrition.”
