Sky Blues set themselves up with a home tie against Bristol Rovers after win over Oldham

Coventry City Under 18s earned themselves an FA Youth Cup third round berth at home to Bristol Rovers on Wednesday night after knocking out Oldham Athletic 2-0 at Boundary Park.

Goals from Jack Finch, who netted in a second consecutive round of the competition, and Ivor Lawton sealed the win for Ian Foster's side who will now entertain the Gas at Nuneaton Town on a date to be confirmed.

Finch, who also got on the scoresheet in the 4-3 win over Shrewsbury Town in the previous round, fired the Sky Blues in front after just two minutes with a strike outside the penalty area which found the bottom corner.

Lawton, who bagged a double in the weekend's 2-1 win over Birmingham City in the Premier Academy League, then made sure of City's safe passage into the next round with a close range tap in with 20 minutes to go.
