Mark Robins was delighted with his side after a fantastic away-day display..
Sky Blues boss Mark Robins spoke in glowing terms of his yellow-clad charges after another fantastic away-day display.
City were wearing their yellow change shirt for the first time this season but it was a case of same again as they recorded a fourth straight away win.
Franck Moussa put the visitors in front inside three minutes with a brilliant volley before David McGoldrick added a second before half-time.
McGoldrick made it three before Chris Brown pulled one back for Donny but Adam Barton restored the deserved three-goal cushion in the closing stages.
Robins was pleased with the way his side managed the game and felt they were well worth their three points.
“I thought we were brilliant,” said the City boss.
“I thought we coped with the aerial threat and the bombardment we faced for the 90 minutes and we also played some really good stuff at a difficult place to come.
“I think Doncaster had only conceded something like 10 or 12 goals at home all season and we have just stuck four in their net and it could have been more.
“I am absolutely delighted. Not only were we good going forward but we were decent at defending and picking up the second balls as well.
“There was some really inventive play. I thought we controlled the game and were comfortable and confident.”
The manager also paid tribute to top scorer McGoldrick who took his tally for the season to 17 – as well as playing his part on the defensive front too.
“David McGoldrick has been brilliant for us,” added Robins.
“Not only in terms of his goalscoring but he has worked hard as well and he has been a credit to the shirt.
“Regardless of what happens we will look at the way he has performed for us in the first half of the season and be really pleased. Let’s see what the next couple of weeks.”
