Sky Blues boss praises determined performance at Victoria Road
Sky Blues boss Andy Thorn praised his side's resolute performance as they secured a Capital One Cup second round berth with a 1-0 win away at Dagenham.Kevin Kilbane netted a last gasp penalty for City to put them in the second round for the first time since 2008.
Thorn said: "First half I thought we got it down well and played but they pressed us second half and it was difficult but we're going to get that this season and I thought the lads were really resolute.
"We've done alot of defending and shape work over the past few days and I think you saw that tonight. The set piece that won us the penalty is something we worked on in training, we didn't really flow going forward but we stuck in there.
"I thought the back four were really good for us tonight. They were solid and sure and with Billy Daniels infront of them and Murphy behind I thought it gave us the foundation for the victory."
