Killer and Carso a dream come true

City midfielder Steven Jennings delighted to be playing with his boyhood heroes

Coventry City midfielder Steven Jennings says playing with former Everton pair Kevin Kilbane and City first team coach Lee Carsley is like a dream come true.

The 27-year-old midfielder, who made his full home debut in City's 1-1 home draw with Sheffield United on Tuesday, was formerly a fully paid up season ticket holder at Goodison Park and he said that to now be playing alongside Kilbane and be coached by Carsley was surreal.

"I've been a massive Evertonian all my life, I've had eight season tickets and players like Carso and Killer I've watched them play so many times at Goodison Park so to now be training with them gives you a bit of a buzz," he said.

"It makes you realise how lucky you are to be in a situation like this."

Jennings, who arrived at the club on a free transfer in the summer, was also full of praise for manager Andy Thorn and his backroom staff, a team he called the ideal combination.

"To be honest they are all brilliant without bigging them up too much. They've all been players and they give you a bit of banter in the morning but if you are not doing your stuff on the training pitch they are quick to let you know about it.

"I think if you mix and match that then you have the ingredients for the ideal backroom staff and it's been really good."
