Goals from Duckens Nazon, Marc McNulty, Jordan Shipley send the Sky Blues comfortable through to the third round f

Nazon opened the scoring midway through the second half when he reacted fastest to a McNulty rebound before the Scottish striker would himself double the lead twelve minutes later.

Jordan Shipley sealed the win early on in the second half when he raced onto McNulty's cross to score his second Sky Blues goal and his first at the Ricoh.

Despite being a league below, Boreham did have the best of the opening chances. Former City man, Blair Turgott was a menace, creating two good chances for the visitors.

First, Dan Holman had a shot from range  which went wide of Lee Burge's near post, before Bruno Andrade, a player highlighted as a threat before kick off almost opened the scoring from close range only to see his shot saved.

The Sky Blues did open the scoring though just before the half hour mark. Nazon did well down the left to get inside and find McNulty in the area. His first shot was saved spectacularly by Grant Smith but he could only parry the ball to Nazon who blasted Mark Robins' side into the lead.

From that stage on the game was City's. McNulty made the most of some poor decision making from Smith to delicately loft the ball over the Boreham Wood 'keeper from the edge of the area to double the lead and make it three in three for the number ten.

Jordan Shipley made it three straight after the beak. McNulty peeled away from his marker before playing a teasing ball across the goalmouth for the onrushing 20-year-old to tap into the empty net and bag his second goal for the Sky Blues.

Shipley has become something of a free-kick specialist since breaking into the side and came close to sending City four up on fifty minutes. The left-footer curled his dipping free kick towards the far post, beating Smith, but it dropped just wide.

The visiting fans were in fine voice all afternoon and we almost treated to a goal with fiteen minutes to go. Andrade again did well to work his way into an attacking area before playing what was arguable to cross of the game towards Shaun Jeffers, but Jordan Willis did well to block it and preserve the clean sheet.

Tom Bayliss entered the frame midway through the second along with Peter Vincenti, who came close to scoring his second cup goal of the season. His header was easily saved by Smith. 

There would be one last chance of the afternoon however. Max Biamou has been doing everything but scoring lately and was presented with a golden chance in added time. Sadly, his close range header sailed agonisingly wide.

Coventry City will now be in the hat for tomorrow's Emirates FA Cup Third Round Draw.
