COVENTRY City boss Aidy Boothroyd is looking for a positive return to domestic action this weekend as his Sky Blues host M69 rivals Leicester City at the Ricoh Arena.
The two sides produced two stalemates in their fixtures last season but Boothroyd said, following a steady start of seven points from the first four games, it was important to get something from the game to keep in touch with the leading teams as early as possible.
"What we've got to do is hang onto the coat tails of those at the top. And when we start kicking into form and get some wins together then I want us to be there or there abouts at the end," Boothroyd said.
"We've had a behind closed doors game, because I think sometimes you come back off an international break and even a week makes a difference to a lot of so we've tried to get the game in, get it out the legs and because of that we'll be in good shape for Leicester."
The City boss also said he was hoping for a big crowd at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday to help spur his side on against their local rivals.
"We'll have to do our bit to get the fans going, we'll have to make sure we go out to win the game but it'll be tough because Leicester are a good team, you know they didn't finish where they finished last year by fluke as they're a good side.
"They are in a transition phase as well with a new manager and it'll be a tough game and at the end of it we've got to make sure we come out with points.
"They'll be thinking exactly the same thing about us. They'll be wondering what's going to come out the door, they'll be wondering what we've got in store for them and like any other game you've got to prepare for the strengths of the opposition and exploit the weaknesses and that's what we'll be doing."
