TICKETS: Buy in advance for early kick-off

Posted on: Fri 10 Sep 2010

COVENTRY City are urging fans to buy in advance for Saturday's clash against Leicester City and help generate a derby day atmosphere.

With sales already strong at 'both ends' and up to 5,000 Leicester supporters expected to make the short trip down the M69 for the 12.30 kick-off at the Ricoh Arena, the Sky Blues are hoping that their own following turn out in force for the occasion.

Stephen Ebanks, Head of Information and Event Sales, said: "The best way to buy a ticket is to purchase before the day of the game because it is quicker and more convenient - it can be done over the phone, online or face-to-face at the ticket office or City Central store.

"Also we want to remind supporters about the early kick-off because, while it has been well publicised, some fans who have been away on holiday may have missed that announcement.

"There have been strong sales in the home and away stands and it will be great to generate that special atmosphere that only games like this can."

Ahead of his first M69 derby, manager Aidy Boothroyd said: "I have been delighted with our support home and away. My aim is to fill the Ricoh Arena but I know that will take time and results.

"But there is absolutely no questioning those who have been there for us this season - we have had terrific backing from our fans at games.

"This is a local derby and that generates an atmosphere of its own. It would be great to see our biggest crowd of the season and our aim is to give them the bragging rights over their local rivals."

Advance tickets prices start at £16 for adults and £10 for concessions. JSBs under-seven are free and over-sevens start at £7.

For more information or to buy in advance log onto www.ccfcshop.co.uk or call 0844 873 1883. Alternatively, visit the club shop at the Ricoh Arena or the City Central store in the City Centre.

The Ticket Office will have extended opening hours on Friday and Saturday to accommodate the early kick-off. The shop will be open until 7pm on Friday and open at 8.30am on Saturday morning.
