CONNECTIONS

TWO Sky Blues cult heroes of the past have split their time between City and Millwall.

Living club legend Richard Shaw is currently the Lions' reserve team coach, making the move to the New Den initially as a player in the summer of 2006 after 11 years and more than 300 appearances with the Sky Blues.

Dennis Wise hit the South London shores in 2002 as a player before taking the role of caretaker manager the following year.

But in 2006 Wise opted for a surprise move to the Sky Blues and quickly ingratiated himself with City fans after netting six goals in 13 appearances during his brief loan stint.

LAST GAME

Millwall 2 Middlesbrough 1

KENNY Jackett's Lions earned themselves a Carling Cup third round berth after a comfortable win over Boro at the New Den.

First half goals from Steve Morison and Liam Trotter gave the hosts a two goal cushion after Morison converted a spot kick on the half hour with Trotter heading home Neil Harris' cross six minutes before break.

Boro's Julio Arca hit the bar from 25 yards in the second half but it took until a minute from time for the visitors to grab a consolation goal, Millwall 'keeper David Forde misjudging a sgot from Scott McDonlad which sailed over the 'keeper's head and into the net.
