FREE: Boothroyd on Millwall and transfers

Posted on: Fri 27 Aug 2010

COVENTRY CIty manager Aidy Bootroyd says the Sky Blues' trip to Millwall this weekend will be his side's toughest test to date.

City have picked up seven points from the first three games of their npower 2010/11 Championship campaign but Boothroyd said it would take a positive result from the New Den before he would say his side had had a solid start to the season.

"Millwall will be, without a doubt, our hardest one yet but if we can get something from this game it will have been a good solid start going into the international break," Boothroyd said.

"We have gotten through games with grit and determination so far which is an extremely important skill to have.

"It's going to take a while before we are playing fast, flowing football but that all comes from the training pitch and getting the players into the right way of thinking and we if we can do that while still picking up points then it will be very good for us.

Boothroyd also spoke about the impending closure of the summer transfer window on August 31 and added he was still looking at departures and arrivals.

"There will be a couple more ins and outs because I think you need a tight squad with players you know you will use.

"Marlon King has been training with us for the last few days and we have put him through a raft of tests to measure his levels of fitness.

"Contract talks are still ongoing but I would like to bring him here and now it is just a case of coming to some sort of agreement and I'm hopeful we can do that."
