FREE: Jutkiewicz on opening goal account

Posted on: Mon 16 Aug 2010

COVENTRY City striker Lukas Jutkiewicz said he was delighted to get off the mark at the weekend after his spot kick earned the Sky Blues a point at Vicarage Road.

Aidy Boothroyd's side battled back from two goals down to snatch a draw after David Bell struck with two minutes to go with Jutkiewicz adding the equaliser from the spot in second half injury time.

And the hitman said he was more than happy to take the penalty which saw him grab his first goal for the Sky Blues since his summer move from Everton.

"As a striker you always want to get that first goal as early as possible so I was delighted to have been able to do that with the penalty," Jutkiewicz said.

"We perhaps didn't perform to the level we set against Portsmouth so we must work hard to be consistent but the good thing to come out of the game was that we showed determination to battle back and get something from the game.

"We could have possibly got a third as well and gone on to win the game so it showed we have the determination to get together battle it out when things might not be going our way."
