OVERVIEW

WATFORD fans will have no complaints over the way the Hornets have started their 2010/11 campaign, bagging an opening day 3-2 win over Championship new boys Norwich City on opening day.

Malky Mackay's side followed that up with a comfortable 3-0 win away over Aldershot in the Carling Cup in midweek, striker Danny Graham scoring a brace in both games to take his season tally to four.

HEAD TO HEAD

WATFORD'S win ratio over the Sky Blues in their all-time meetings since 1926 stand at nearly 3:2, the Hornets winning 37 of their all-time meetings, Coventry winning 27 with 12 ending in draws.

Sammy Clingan gave the Sky Blues the lead although the Hornets went into the break 2-1 up. It took a Leon Best brace in the second half to put the Sky Blues back in the driving seat and send them home with all the points.

TWO goals from Danny Graham and one from Marvin Sordell helped ease Watford through to the next round of the Carling Cup in midweek.

Graham then completed the scoring three minutes after the break to set the Hornets up with a second round tie at home to Notts County.

TEAM NEWS

Watford boss Malky Mackay will recall new England goalkeeper Scott Loach to his side after he missed the 3-0 Carling Cup win at Aldershot in midweek after his surprise call-up to the England squad.

Back-up keeper Rene Gilmartin made his debut in midweek but will not be on the bench as he has a knock.

New signing Troy Deeney is likely to be on the bench again as he waits for his full debut following his £500,000 switch from Walsall.

Defender Dale Bennett returned from injury to be on the bench in midweek, meaning Mackay has no injury concerns.
