FREE: Eastwood says manager expects

Posted on: Mon 09 Aug 2010

COVENTRY City striker Freddy Eastwood said he was pleased the Sky Blues managed to perform in the way that was expected by manager Aidy Boothroyd in their opening day win over Portsmouth at the Ricoh Arena.

Eastwood bagged a goal in each half to make it ten consecutive undefeated opening days for the Sky Blues and he said he was delighted to have gotten off the mark so early.

"I think when you score that early everything seems to come together," Eastwood said.

"It was a great ball by David Bell for my second goal and it was nice to come to the Ricoh and play a good side and get three points.

"That's what the manager wanted and that's what we managed to give him. We expected to come in and put in a really good performance so I think it was all credit to every one of the lads out on the pitch."
