Posted on: Tue 27 Jul 2010

COVENTRY City manager Aidy Boothroyd and his summer signings won't be the only new additions to the City technical area on match days in the upcoming season.

In an extension to the existing partnership between the Sky Blues and Jaguar, the club's official car supplier has installed its latest sports seats into the dug outs at the Ricoh Arena.

The black leather seats, the same as those used in the Jaguar XFR model, will seat 13 people in each dug out.

The XFR is Jaguar's sports saloon, powered by a supercharged 510 bhp V8 engine. The electrically adjustable sports seats offer the driver significantly improved support at higher cornering speeds.

The luxury car manufacturer already sponsors the Sky Blues' premium match day corporate hospitality area, the Jaguar Club, which comprises of two prestigious members only lounges, sleekly designed with an exclusive member's bar, dining facilities and plasma screens.

Geoff Cousins, Managing Director or Jaguar UK, said; "We are delighted to once again be working closely with Coventry City Football Club by installing seats from a Jaguar XFR in the technical areas. We hope that by putting Aidy and his players into the driving seat we will see action on the pitch that matches the superb performance of the XFR on the road."

Aidy Boothroyd, said: "We have fantastic facilities here at the Ricoh Arena and the addition of these seats in the dug outs are a great touch. I'm excited about getting into the technical area and getting the season underway, hopefully with a win to see us off to a flying start."

Meanwhile, Aidy is also one of a host of sports stars to join the new Jaguar Academy of Sport, which aims to recognise, celebrate and inspire the very best of British sporting talent.

The Jaguar Academy is a unique club of the best of British sport which will be used to inspire the next generation of British sportsmen and women. Working closely with charity SportsAid, the Academy will ensure the very best new talent is identified and supported with bursaries that will help them to fulfil their full potential.
