EASTWOOD: Take scoring form to Riverside

Posted on: Mon 19 Apr 2010

COVENTRY City striker Freddy Eastwood said he hoped he could take his goalscoring form to the Riverside Stadium after netting the goal that helped the Sky Blues to a point against Preston North End on Saturday.

The 26-year-old, who opened the scoring with his 17th minute opener against the Lilywhites at the Ricoh Arena at the weekend, raised his goal tally to eight for the season but he said he hoped he would get more chances to swell it even further before the curtain comes down on the 2009/10 campaign.

"The manager wants us to finish as high up the table as we possibly can so if I can get another couple of goals before the season finishes to help with that I will try my best," he said.

"Against Preston, it's always frustrating when you lose the lead after getting your noses infront but I'm just looking at going to Middlesbrough next weekend aiming to keep the goalscoring going.

"It would be nice if I could get into double figures for the season but the most important thing is trying to help make sure we get the right result on the pitch whether I score or not so that all starts again against Middlesbrough on Saturday."
