COLEMAN: Effort was there

Posted on: Mon 12 Apr 2010

COVENTRY City boss Chris Coleman says an improvement in results will come with an improved sense of confidence.

The City manager watched his side extend their run without a win to eight games at the weekend with a 1-0 defeat to hosts Sheffield United but he said while he was disappointed with the result he was pleased at the level of effort from his players.

"We have had games recently where we have been two different teams in the two halves but that was not the case against Sheffield United," he said.

"I could not fault the lads in terms of effort, we may have lacked a little bit of imagination but that comes when your confidence has been knocked in the way ours has.

"We looked more organised and I don't think the lads could have put in a great deal more in terms of effort, it just needs one result to get that spring back in our step."
