COVENTRY City midfielder Aron Gunnarsson says it is important to finish the season strong to gather momentum before the summer.

The Sky Blues travel to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United at the weekend and plamaker Gunnarsson said picking up points was still vital for the Sky Blues.

"We need to make sure we finish strong this season to carry that into next pre-season and avoid what happened last season," he said.

"We still want points because we want to kick start that team spirit before the season ends.

"The gaffer has said that we have not been working for each other lately and he's right, it's something we need to put right.

"You can't make a successful team from individual performances so we need to concentrate on putting that right before the season finishes starting with the weekend."
