COLEMAN: Superb second half response

Posted on: Mon 22 Mar 2010

COVENTRY City boss Chris Coleman said he was delighted with the response form his players following a poor first half performance.

The Sky Blues were two goals down going into the interval but they fought back in the second 45 minutes to salvage a point.

"The first half we were poor and the second half we were good," Coleman said.

"We deserved nothing more than we got in the first half but I think our second half performance made us worthy of a point.

"The first half an hour was not good enough and while Steve Harrison talks about tactics at half time I talked about 'other thing's but the lads gave a superb response in the second half.

"It was a good derby clash and I thought our supporters were magnificent throughout so a thank you goes to them yet again.

"In terms of the play-offs though we are a few points away now although there are still eight games to go.

"We've got some big games coming up so hopefully we can replicate the desire we showed in the second half."
