HARRISON: Tomorrow another day

Posted on: Thu 18 Mar 2010

COVENTRY City assistant manager Steve Harrison says the Sky Blues will not dwell on the dramatic events at the Ricoh Arena tonight which saw visitors Cardiff City grab all three points in controversial fashion.

Coventry took the lead through Clinton Morrison just after the half hour but Chris Burke levelled for the visitors five minutes before the break and Peter Whittingham added a second from the penalty spot with two minutes of the game to go after the assistant referee awarded Cardifff City a penalty for a handball  by Sky Blues defender Martin Cranie.

Harrison said: "Yes there were a number of things we were very disappointed about but ranting and raving doesn't do any good.

"We didn't think Martin could have done anything about the handball or gotten out of the way because he was only two or three yards away when the shot came in.

"That being said we need to put this to bed now. We can toss and turn about the decision tonight and tomorrow morning and then that's it, it's finished.

"We did look a little bit tired tonight but what we lacked there we made up for in being resolute and focused.

"Cardiff are a very good side and we were well beaten when we made the trip there earlier in the season. That wasn't the case tonight and I think people can see that now, we are giving the top a sides a real test which is very pleasing to see."
