MCINDOE: Loads of points up for grabs

Posted on: Tue 16 Mar 2010

COVENTRY City midfielder Michael McIndoe says the Sky Blues have not lost sight of the fact there are still 30 points left in the season to play for.

The Scottish wideman scored his first goal for Chris Coleman's side in their 1-1 draw with Plymouth Argyle at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday but he said the team would not be getting carried away despite creeping ever closer to the top six which is just two points away.

"The point against Plymouth was extremely valuable because the results around the country meant we made more ground on the top six," he said.

"That being said we know there are ten more games to go this season which means there are alot of points for us to play for.

"The mood with the lads is great at the moment but at the same time we're trying to stay focused on the fact we need to see the season out strong, concentrate on ourselves and then see where we end up."

The 30-year-old added it was a weight off his shoulders having finally opened his scoring account for the Sky Blues.

"To be honest I've not really minded not scoring as long as we've been picking up points which we have been doing but it's been the longest goal drought of my career so it's great to finally get one."
