COVENTRY City are joining forces with all 72 Football League Clubs in a united week of action to raise awareness and vital funds for Help for Heroes - The Football League's Official Charity Partner for the 2009/10 season.
Football for Heroes week will take place between March 6 and 14 allowing the whole of The Football League to show its support for the efforts of our Armed Forces.
The Sky Blues will be holding their game against Plymouth Argyle Saturday, March 13 in honour of the charity.
Chris Coleman's Sky Blues and Plymouth Argyle will both follow the Help For Heroes banner out of the players tunnel prior to kick off Saturday and both the City boss and Pilgrims manager Paul Mariner will be sporting Help For Heroes wristbands.

The club will also be holding bucket collections in and around the Ricoh Arena for fans who want to make a donation to the charity.
As an extension of support for the charity, Coventry City will also be tying in a visit from the Royal Air Force for the Sky Blues' April 3 clash with Derby County with Help For Heroes by organising a collection from a regional branch of the charity as well as members of RAF Cosford forming a guard of honour for the players' pre-kick off walk out.

The RAF will also be providing a Typhoon cockpit simulator for fans and a mobile recruiting vehicle.
Lord Mawhinney, chairman of The Football League, said: "The contribution being made by our armed forces around the world is both outstanding and humbling.
"As a nation we seldom thank them enough for the sacrifices they make. The Football for Heroes week will provide an excellent opportunity for supporters to show their appreciation for the work they do." |
