Coventry City manager Chris Coleman said he was pleased to have picked up a point away from home.
David Bell's 46th minute goal put the Sky Blues ahead, before a late leveller from David Clarkson saved a point for the hosts.
Coleman said: "In the second half we kept the ball a bit better and we were hard to beat even though we didn't have too many chances.
"They put a lot of high long balls into our box and they had one or two good chances from problems we created ourselves.
"A point away from home is always a good point. It was going to be difficult because the last time they played here they lost 6-0 to Cardiff and they were always going to make it difficult for us and they wanted to impress in front of their own fans.
"The chairman is trying very hard for us to bring in reinforcements. We would like a couple of strikers to help out Clinton and Freddy because Shaun Jeffers is only a baby. Carl Baker can play in behind the strikers but with a bit of luck, something will happen this week."
