COVENTRY City assistant manager Steve Harrison says he has been impressed by the level of character on show in the Sky Blues dressing room following their draw away to Swansea in midweek.
Blackpool-born Harrison sees City take on his hometown club in the Championship on Saturday and he said Tuesday night's performance at the Liberty Stadium would stand Chris Coleman's side in good stead ahead of what he expects to be another stern test.
"The two defeats we suffered before the Swansea game were really draining because of the manner of the goals which beat us and you could see the lads were down," Harrison said.
"But the lads didn't half showed some character with the performance against Swansea because we know they are a very good team and they have a habit of imposing their footballing methodology on times that visit them.
"We didn't let them do that, we were strong as a unit and all things being equal it was a decent performance."
'Harri' added the confidence born from the midweek stalemate would be something the Sky Blues could take into their weekend tie with the Seasiders.
"We can go into the game against Blackpool now and hopefully try and express ourselves a bit more.
"Ian Holloway has done a fantastic job with his team, they definitely have the ability to dominate opponents and it will be interesting to see what this fixture throws up on Saturday."
