BEST: We deserved three points

Posted on: Fri 12 Feb 2010

COVENTRY City striker Leon Best said he felt the Sky Blues did enough for all three points in their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at the Ricoh Arena.

The City hitman notched his eighth goal of the season to cancel out Darren Ambrose's first half opener for Neil Warnock's side as the Sky Blues registered their first ever point against the South London outfit on home turf at the Ricoh.

The Republic of Ireland international headed home Michael McIndoe's cross a minute into the second half and he said, while he was delighted to increase his goal tally, he would have been happier had the Sky Blues walked away with what they deserved.

"I thought we played really well and it shows that because we've got a point and we're disappointed with that," he said.

"I was delighted to get on the scoresheet, it was a great cross from Macca but we all recovered well from an average first half and really raised our game.

"We went for it towards the end of the game and I thought we could have snatched a winner."
