COVENTRY City striker Leon Best says he is itching to get back on the pitch after being sidelined with a knee injury.
The club joint top scorer suffered a swollen knee in the 2-0 away defeat to Cardiff City earlier this month which kept him out of last weekend's goalless draw with West Brom at the Ricoh Arena.
But Best said he was raring to go again after getting through his first full training session since his recovery yesterday.
"I hate it when I miss any game and I was worried I would be out much longer," he said.
"When I heard it was my medial or cruciate ligament I was shocked but when they explained the injury to me I was surprised and relieved it was quite minor so I'm delighted that I'm available for selection this weekend."
The Coca-Cola Championship Player of the Month for September also said both himself and his teammates were targeting the weekend clash with Reading to get their season back on track after a couple of disappointing results of late.
"Getting a draw against West Brom after two defeats was a boost because we need to get used to winning games and picking up points again.
"Personally I'm raring to go as well. It was good to get the lungs working in training again and hopefully I can pick up from where I left off before I got injured.
"I was scoring a few goals and enjoying my football so hopefully the sooner I can get back to that the better."
