OVERVIEW

MALKY Mackay's side are currently in the middle of a five-game unbeaten run in the Championship, a vein of form which has seen them climb to seventh in the league with 14 points, just two points more than the Sky Blues.

Mackay has helped transform Watford's fortunes somewhat since his arrival in the managerial post in June this year.

The Hornets' mid-table finish last season was somewhat out of character for a club which is normally there or thereabouts in regards to a play-off spot but Mackay, has so far appeared to start crafting a team which is capable of reaching the lofty heights once again.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

WATFORD'S win ratio over the Sky Blues in their all-time meetings since 1926 stand at nearly 3:2, the Hornets winning 36 of their all-time meetings, Coventry winning 26 with 12 ending in draws.

The last time the Sky Blues visited Vicarage Road they came away empty handed and soaking wet following torrential rain that nearly forced the game to be called off.

Tommy Smith put Watford ahead and Clinton Morrison equalized for the Sky Blues five minutes later before John-Joe O'Toole netted a winner for Watford with 18 minutes to go.

The 20-year-old central midfielder, whose father Alan Cork spent time at Coventry City as the club's reserve team manager, scored one goal in his stint at Watford in their 4-3 win over Crystal Palace in the FA Cup fourth round.

Watford midfielder John Eustace also plied his trade at Highfield Road with the Sky Blues for seven years between 1996 and 2003, scoring seven goals in 85 appearances for the club.

Former Hornets man Gregor Rasiak put Reading ahead after just seven minutes with Watford striker Danny Graham equalizing for the visitors six minutes after the hour mark to extend Watford's unbeaten run to five games.

INJURIES AND SUSPENSIONS

Coventry City's David Bell (ankle) and James McPake (shoulder) are both out with long term injuries.

Watford loanee Heidar Helguson will not be available with a strained calf, Hornets captain Jay DeMerit is still out with an eye injury and midfielder Scott Severin will undergo a late fitness test.

DANGER MAN

Danny Graham

THE 24-year-old striker has been a hit at Vicarage Road since his arrival from League One Carlisle United in July this year.

Graham has netted six times in all competitions so far this season, underlining the reason why manager Malky Mackay signed him up to a two-year contract after his deal with Carlisle expired.
