COLEMAN: Have to get a run going

Posted on: Fri 12 Feb 2010

COVENTRY City boss Chris Coleman has underlined the importance of not wasting the momentum built from the Sky Blues last two performances in Saturday's away clash at Preston North End.

The Sky Blues have picked up four points from the last two games with a home draw against Bristol City and the most recent 3-2 win over Sheffield United at the Ricoh.

And Coleman said his side have to get a run going and make the most of two very positive performances.

"I thought the boys were excellent on Tuesday night from Keiren Westwood right the way through to Leon Best," he said.

"It was a great three points against Sheffield United but what was just as pleasing was the manner in how they did it.

"Besty, Clinton and McIndoe were in our own half stopping crosses and then looking threatening when they went forward, they worked so hard.

"As did Jack Cork, Sammy Clingan and Isaac Osbourne who probably covered every blade of grass between them and we defended very well as well so I was very pleased with that."

The City boss also said he would not be playing any games with regards to his team selection either saying that Tuesday's performance made it difficult to do anything other than keep his team intact.

"The team pretty much picks itself after Tuesday if I'm honest with you. I'd probably have a couple of frustrated knocks on my door if I did too much changing around.

"But we have to go to Preston and do it all again on Saturday. Coventry City period do not have a good record at Deepdale so we have got to come back with something positive and we have to, have to, get a run going."
