MCINDOE: Feel a bit disappointed

Posted on: Fri 12 Feb 2010

COVENTRY City midfielder Michael McIndoe said he felt slightly disappointed after the Sky Blues' 1-1 draw with Bristol City at the Ricoh Arena.

The point is the Sky Blues' first in five fixtures against the Ashton Gate outfit but McIndoe, who plied his trade under Gary Johnson for two years before his summer switch to the Ricoh, said a second goal would have killed off the Robins before they had a chance to get back into the game.

"It was disappointing, not just because we nearly got all three points, but also because we felt it was a quite clear handball in the lead up to the equaliser," McIndoe said.

"That being said we had a great first half and played some great football so their equaliser took the shine off the game for us because up to that point I never really felt they were going to score.

"We were always looking for that second goal to kill them off but one positive is that Bristol City have come to the Ricoh twice before and enjoyed themselves but today I didn't feel that was the case today.

"They will wake up in the morning knowing they have been in a football match so from that perspective it's pleasing."
