COLEMAN: 'Harri' like a duck to water!

Posted on: Fri 03 Jul 2009

COVENTRY City boss Chris Coleman says new assistant boss Steve Harrison has taken to pre-season training at Ryton like 'a duck to water' since training started on Wednesday.

Former England coach Harrison has spent his first three days with the Sky Blues squad since his appointment in the summer and Coleman said he has been extremely happy with the way he has already bonded with the squad.

"Harri's seen it all before and he's taken to it like a duck to water. I knew he would," Coleman said.

"I'm absolutely delighted that we have him here and the players have certainly enjoyed having him around for the last few days."

Coleman also said he was pleased at the condition of his squad on their return to pre-season training following the summer break.

"The lads have come back and worked hard, their levels are very good and they all look in good nick.

"There's always a few moans and groans and a few blisters in the first few days but I don;t mind that as long as we get all the important work done and out of the way to make sure we are as prepared as possible for when the season starts."
