FOX: First day back at school!
COVENTRY City defender Danny Fox says the first day of pre-season will be like going back to school when the Sky Blues return for pre-season training on Wednesday, July 1.
The City left-back returned to the club's Ryton training ground a couple of days early to get a head start of pre-season preparations and he said he could not wait to kick a football in anger again.
"Pre-season is hard work but I'm looking forward to getting back into it and seeing the lads again. It's always like your first day back at school when you come back," he said.
"Obviously I'm suspended for the first two games of the new season so that's disappointing but it just means I have to pay extra attention to my fitness to make sure I'm in the right shape for when I'm available again because the rest of the lads will already be two games in."
The Liverpudlian full-back also drew back on memory to recall the last time he visited the Racecourse Ground, the venue where the Sky Blues will take on Wrexham in their first pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 11.
"I played there when I was at Walsall and from what I can remember it wasn't the nicest place to go in the middle of December but I'm really looking foward to it and can't wait to kick a football in anger again."
