SIMPSON: Step in the right direction
COVENTRY City striker Robbie Simpson says he hopes the Sky Blues can take the point against Barnsley and use it to build on for the last two games of the season.
Ellliott Ward converted an injury time spot kick to cancel out Daniel Bogdanovic's eighth minute opener and Simpson said the result felt a step in the right direction.
"We started brightly and then conceded a goal against the run of play and we though 'here we go again'," Simpson said.
"I thought we played some decent stuff in the first half but we knew we had to be patient because Barnsley were clogging up the midfield and making it difficult for us.
"But in the second half they were only really looking to hit us on the break and we managed to keep some possession and when the board came up for five minutes of injury time I think it gave us and the crowd a bit of a lift.
"Getting a point like this doesn't feel like some sort of victory but it does feel like it's a step in the right direction so hopefully we can take this result and build on it for the last two games of the season."
