WRIGHT: Injuries been a nightmare
COVENTRY City full back Stephen Wright says his recent spell on the sidelines has been a nightmare.
The 28-year-old right back recently made his return to Chris Coleman's first team squad only to be pulled out again in the club's 1-1 home draw against Swansea City with a knee injury.
The Liverpudlian had just returned from nearly three months out with a first-time Achilles injury and he said to be back in the first team only to come straight back out again had been a nightmare.
He has since had some good news though when the knee trouble he picked up against the Swans was revealed to be not as serious as first feared.
But even with Isaac Osbourne out with an ankle injury, suffered just minutes after he replaced Wright against Swansea, Wright is still not a definite to start against Nottingham Forest this weekend as he says his current condition is touch and go as to whether he will be involved at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.
"It has been like a nightmare these last few months because you just want to play football. And to finally get out there and then have to come back out again was horrible," he said.
"I will wait and see what condition I'm in tomorrow (Friday) and that will give me a clearer idea as to whether or not I can play but I obviously hope I can."
Wright also said he hoped he would be fit to play to help the Sky Blues get their Championship campaign back on track after Monday's away defaet to Reading.
"We all want to do well for the club and for the fans and the best way to do that is to pick up points.
"Nottingham Forest are down at the wrong end of the table but there is no way we will be taking them lightly. There will be no chance of that at all because we all know what they are capable of producing."
