COVENTRY City striker Michael Mifsud expressed his delight at netting his first goal of the season against Wolves on Saturday but admitted it was bittersweet following the 2-1 defeat.
The Maltese international, who had been on international duty forhis country over the previous two weeks, put the Sky Blues ahead after five minutes to give Chris Coleman's side a dream start at Molineux.
But an equaliser from Michael Kightly just before the break and Sylvan Ebanks-Blakes winner three minutes before the hour mark left City with nothing to show for another promising performance.
"Obviously I'm glad to get my first goal but we lost and it's disappointing because we played very well," Mifsud said.
"It's always nice to score, especially in such an important game, but it's the points that matter so we have to put it right against Burnley.
"It was some good work from Michael Doyle and Freddy that led to my goal and we put things like that together all game and we should have got something at the end.
"But we have to look at Burnley now and with the game coming around so quickly hopefully we can play as well against them as we did against Wolves."
