BEST: I'm over the moon
COVENTRY City striker Leon Best says he was delighted to get on the scorsheet against his old club in the Sky Blues' 4-1 win over Southampton at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.
The 22-year-old marked his first start this season with his first goal to put the Sky Blues 3-0 up against the Saints and, speaking exclusively to Sky Blues World, he said while he still harbours good memories of playing for Southampton he would not let sentimentality prevent him from celebrating his first league strike.
"When you score it always good. I've got some great memories from Southampton but I'm not there anymore becasue I've moved on and I'm just delighted to get on the scoresheet," he said.
"I'm over the moon to get on the scoresheet and to be in a team that played really well. It could have been seven or eight to be honest, never mind four, but we'll take that scoreline all the time.
"When I missed my chance in the first half and it hit the post I thought it wasn't going to happen to me but Foxy put in a great delivery in the second half and I got a good connection on it and it was great to see the ball go in the back of the net."
