COLEMAN: Looking forward to going home
COVENTRY City manager Chris Coleman says he is looking forward to returning to his homeland when his side take on Cardiff City at Ninian Park tonight.
The Sky Blues latest Championship clash against the Bluebirds hands the Coventry boss a rare opportunity to return home while at the same time attempting to stretch the Sky Blues' current four-game unbeaten streak.
"It will be nice to go home. I'm really looking forward to that and I still get a little bit of the old butterflies when I drive over the Severn Bridge," Coleman said.
"I'd prefer to go a bit further down Wales to Swansea but Cardiff is a great place to play. No doubt I'll take a bit of flack for being a Swansea man but I'm looking forward to that as I am with the game itself because I'm going back to Wales.
"But it's still just another game for us. It's another opportunity to get three points."
Tonight will be Coleman's first visit to Ninian Park as a manager although Cookie recalls fond memories of numerous visits to the stadium in the club's capital as a player for Swansea.
"I loved playing there for Swansea in the Welsh derbies. I've had the privilege to play in stadiums filled with 60 or 70,000 people but the atmosphere at some of those derbies still hold a special place for me."
