CHRIS Coleman is running through who will be available to play for him ahead of Saturday's home Championship clash with Preston North End.

The City manager has been hampered by injuries to right-back Stephen Wright and doubts over the readiness of midfielder Jay Tabb.

"Wrighty's not going to be ready for a while and the disappointing thing is that he's probably going to be out for the next four to six weeks," he said.

"We know what the problems are with his Achilles and he is just going to have to take a back seat and let it heal.

"It's a big disappointment for us because Stephen was excellent in pre-season and we are desperate to bring in a right-back to help us in that area.

"Tabby has been really struggling with his feet (blisters) and he is going to be touch and go for us. He's been playing and training in a lot of discomfort and we've got to assess him ahead of today's game.

"We have to weigh up whether to keep playing him or whether we take him out of the team for a while and give him."

But Coleman has also been boosted by the return of Leon Best from a knee injury and is also carefully monitoring fellow striker Freddy Eastwood's recovery from a groin problem.

Isaac Osbourne's steady recovery from injury also means he could be called upon by his manager ahead of Saturday after turning out for the reserves last week.

"Isaac Osbourne recently played in his first game since the end of last season in the reserves and he did well and offers us some more strength in a few positions.

"Besty has looked very good. He's naturally a very fit and strong young man and he's got back to fitness a lot quicker than other players might have done.

"He came on for his first appearance of the season and he then played in the reserves and set the goal up in a 1-0 win against Wolves. He's looking very sharp indeed and it's good to have Leon available again.

"And Freddy has been training tentatively but we have had to be careful on that front because he is an important player for us and we don't to lose him for a longer spell.

"It's important that the fans realise he's not up to match sharpness yet and that they don't expect too much too soon but in the long run he will undoubtedly be a very good player for Coventry City."

Goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos is also on the steady road to recovery and could soon be in line for a reserve appearance after a serious Achilles injury cut short the end of his season last season and also cost him the majority of his pre-season preparation this year.
