WORLD CUP: Mixed results for City stars
COVENTRY City players Aron Gunnarsson and Michael Mifsud both featured in their respective nations' World Cup 2010 qualifiers on Saturday.
Midfield maestro Gunnarsson started Iceland's Group Nine 2-2 away draw with Norway while striker Mifsud ended up on the wrong side of a 4-0 result, Malta going down to Group One opponents Portugal.
Gunnarsson did not get on the scorsheet for Iceland but helped them fight back after twice going behind against Norway.
Steffen Iversen gave Norway the lead from the penalty spot after 36 minutes with Heidar Helguson levelling three minutes later.

Iversen then reinstated the hosts' lead five minutes after the break with Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen getting a second equaliser for the visitors after 68 minutes.
Malta, however, appeared to be holding their own against Portugal despite going into the half-time break a goal down after an own goal from Said after 24 minutes.

Portugal wrapped up the points in the second half though with three goals in 17 minutes, the first from Hugo Almeida just after the hour mark with Simao and Nani also getting on the scoresheet to complete a comfortable win.
