DANN: Delighted to get off the mark

Posted on: Wed 27 Aug 2008

SKY Blues skipper said he was delighted to get his scoring account for the club off the mark after netting a dramatic late equaliser for Coventry against Newcastle last night.

Chris Coleman's side had to fight back from two goals down but Clinton Morrison got one back on the strole of half time before Dann levelled the score with a header off a long throw-in from Aron Gunnarsson.

The 21-year-old centre-half has been threatening to get on the score sheet since his arrival from Walsall in January.

And he said the set piece that resulted in his first goal for the club was straight off the training ground.

"We'd been trying that for the first couple of games and it's not quite worked. But on that occasion I just timed it right and it's ended up on my head," he said.

"I'm obviously happy to have got my first goal for the club because it's been a long time coming.
