Charity walk raises £1,500
A CHARITY walk around the Ricoh Arena has raised around £1,500 for four charities.
More than 100 people put their best foot forward to cover four laps around the Sky Blues' pitch joined by BBC Coventry and Warwickshire presenter Bob Brolly, Coventry City director Joe Elliott and Sky Blue Sam to raise money for Cure Leukaemia, Prostate Cancer Charity, the renal unit at University Coventry Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital.
And organiser Chris Roddis, from Ernesford Grange said she wanted to extend a big thanks for those who gave up their time to raise money.
"We had babies being pushed in pushchairs, two-year-old toddlers walking with their parents and a girl called Hayley, who is usually in a wheelchair, stood to walk half the length of the pitch to add £86 to our final tally," she said.

"The money we raised was absolutely brilliant and that included £250 from Goldcrest Cleaning in Warwick, and I would also like to thank Brendan Phillips and Meena Mattu from the Arena Health and Fitness club."
Three more fundraising events have been scheduled over August and September to further top up the current total.
