Tabb seeking revenge
Jay Tabb says the Sky Blues are out for revenge when Ipswich Town arrive at the Ricoh Arena in front of the Sky TV cameras on Saturday. (5.20pm)
The Sky Blues topped the Championship table in early September before crashing to a 4-1 defeat at Portman Road.
Ipswich currently lie just outside the play-off pack thanks to a magnificent home record. But, by contrast, they are yet to win away from Portman Road this season.
And Tabb hopes that record remains the same as the Sky Blues look to recover from a disappointing Boxing Day result against Crystal Palace.
Talking to Sky Blues World on Friday morning, the midfielder said: "We want to have a good session today in training and get refocused and make sure Ipswich carry on their poor away form.
"They are a really good side, though, who like to pass the ball and have some talented young players.
"I am surprised they haven't won away from home because when we played them they were one of the best sides we'd played this campaign.
Tabb believes bad luck has played its part in a recent slump and says its only a matter of time before the Sky Blues climb back up towards the play-offs.
He added: "The Blackpool game aside, we have been putting in good performances but teams are beating us - that's just the way it's going at the moment.
"We're giving away bad goals at crucial times. When we're looking like we are really in the game we get a sucker punch and it's uphill from there.
"We defend as a team and attack as a team, against Palace there wasn't one person you could pick out and say had a really poor game.
"It would be easier to take if we got played off the park and teams were far better than us but that isn't the case.
"As soon as you win again people become a bit more optimistic and start looking up again. If you get a few good results in this league you can move up and Palace's recent run is a good example of this.
"A few weeks ago they were fourth from bottom and now after eleven games unbeaten and pushing for the play offs. If we can do something like that we can also push up and be in with a chance."
