Defeat for Mifsud
Michael Mifsud suffered defeat on international duty at the weekend as Malta slipped to a 2-0 defeat against Hungary in Budapest.
The Sky Blues striker, making his 51st cap for his country, found chances hard to come by and failed to test former City loanee Márton Fülöp in the home goal in a match dominated by the hosts.
Goals either side of half-time from Róbert Feczesin and Dániel Tozsér secured the victory, which was sweet revenge for Hungary as Malta's only win in Euro 2008 qualifying campaign came against the Magyars in October 2006.
The result also put Malta bottom of the Group C, but they have an immediate chance move up a place when they take on closest rivals Moldova in Ta' Qali on Wednesday evening.
