Mifsud set for half century
Michael Mifsud is set to recover from a minor injury in time to make his 50th cap for Malta against Turkey on Saturday.
The City striker, 26, has been suffering from abdominal pains in the build-up to the game but is expected to be passed fit to complete a half-centry of appearances for the small nation in a tough Euro 2008 qualifier against the Turks.
Malta are enjoying their best-ever UEFA European Championship qualifying campaign. They are sixth in the seven-team Group C and just two points behind fifth-placed Hungary, who they beat 2-1 last October, having never finished above last place in a qualifying section.
They also take on Armenia in a friendly three days later.
Mifsud is the third highest scorer in Malta's history with 12 goals from his 49 caps.
