THE Sky Blues staged a stunning comeback to make it a very happy return to Vicarage Road for manager Aidy Boothroyd. The City boss had to bring in Everton's Iain Turner on loan from Everton after Keiren Westwood suffered a family bereavement. The 26-year-old started the game but had to be replaced by Michael Quirke in the 18th minute after suffering a cut eye. The youngster made one stunning saved but was beaten when he couldn't cut out a deep cross in first half injury time. Then City old boy John Eustace made it two for the home side in the 59th minute when he fired home a superb flying overhead kick. The home side looked good from the start with Eustace pulling the strings in midfield. He fired a shot wide in the fourth minute and played a part eight minutes later when City did well to stay on level terms. Marvin Sordell chased a long ball and managed to hook it back across the City area to Will Buckley and his shot was blocked. Buckley caused more problems a minute later when he got round Ben Turner, but Lee Carsley had spotted the danger and covered across to block the centre. But there was drama in the 15th minute when City had to survive a mad scramble in their own area. When they hacked the ball clear, Iain Turner was left on the floor in obvious trouble. Danny Graham had spotted the problem and called the medical staff on. After long treatment the Everton keeper came off with a nasty-looking wound above his right eye. That meant 18-year-old Michael Quirke came on for his debut. He saw a shot from Stephen McGinn fly just wide after the midfielder had got past skipper Lee Carsley. The young keeper had a chance to impress after 33 minutes and did very well to keep out a shot from Sordell who looked favourite to score. It looked as if City would go in level at the interval but in the second minute of injury time a long cross from Lee Hodson went over Quirke and Buckley was able to head home from a tight angle. City's hopes were still alive but they had to start strongly - and were undone by Eustace's flying strike in the 59th minute. The ball was flicked on to him from a corner and although the strike was fully intentional, it was the sort of wonder-strike that 99 times out of 100 would have flown wide. Boothoyd made changes just two minutes later by bringing on Aron Gunnarsson and Clive Platt for Freddy Eastwood and Gary McSheffrey, and it did pep up their performance. And how it paid off. With just three minutes of normal time remaining Platt headed down and Bell fired home a real piledriver. The home side were well and truly rattled and just three minutes later Lloyd Doyley pushed Richard Keogh over inside the box to give City a penalty. Lukas Jutkiewicz stepped up and hammered the ball home to earn a dramatic point.
